Perusal of the same reveals that an amount of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Only), as recommended by the Commission, has been paid to Smt. Durga Devi, sister of the deceased, on 12.2.2013. Proof of payment has also been annexed. The Commission has considered the matter. The amount of interim relief, as recommended by the Commission, has been paid to the next of kin of the deceased. No further action is called for. The reports received from the State Authorities are taken on record and the case is closed. In response, the Law Officer, Tihar Prisons, New Delhi, vide his communication dated 10.6.2013, has submitted the report. Perusal of the same reveals that an amount of Rs.1,50,000/- (Rupees One Lakh and Fifty Thousand Only) each [Total Rs.3,00,000/- (Rupees Three Lakhs Only)] has been paid to Shri Hakimuddin and Smt. Shayada, father and mother of the deceased respectively on 29.5.2013. Proof of payment has also been annexed. The explanation of Director General (Prisons) with regard to not making the ambulance available for the deceased to be taken to All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, has, however, still not been received. The Commission has considered the matter. The amount of interim relief of Rs.3,00,000/- (Rupees Three Lakhs Only), as recommended by the Commission, has been paid to mother and father of the deceased in equal proportion. The Chief Secretary, Government of NCT of Delhi, is directed to seek explanation from Director General (Prisons), Tihar, New Delhi, as above and take appropriate action thereof in the matter. With these directions, the reports received from the State Authorities are taken on record and the case is closed.
