| Direction issued by the Commission | The complainant in his complaint dated 18 March 2010 has stated that the victims were forced to work as bonded labourer and were not provided their wages. It was reported to SDM, Sadar and labour officer but in vain. The Commission took cognizance of the complaint on 12.4.2010 and called for a report from District Magistrate, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh within six. Requisite report is awaited despite reminder dated 13/07/2010 and 28.9.2010. Under these circumstances, the Commission is constrained to invoke its powers u/s 13 of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993, for the personal appearance of DM, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh to appear before the Commission on 9.9.2011 alongwith the relevant records and explain. Should however, the copy of the requisite report be received by the Commission on or before 2.9.2011 the personal presence of the DM, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh shall stand dispensed with. |
